親愛的家長

非常高興您今天蒞臨本班並與您的孩子一起體驗靜思語教學的活動。

時間過的好快，孩子在雙語班學習中文至今已有七個多月了；我們在這段時間，除了靜思語教學外，配合『生活華語(進階篇) ─ Living Mandarin 2』的中文教材同步進行，內容包括有生字、生詞、生活會話、句型結構和語句延伸等等…以豐富教學內容。

從去年(2006)十一月開始，我們班上的部落格(Blog) 也歡喜誕生了！裡面有許多您孩子優秀的作品和每一週的學習點滴，有空的時候，請多進入這個屬於我們大家的另一個空間，您的建言或感想也將會豐富我們的部落格園地喔！http://torontotbi20.blogspot.com

除此之外，學校在這一學期中，悉心安排的六週各一小時才藝課，教務處邀請專業的才藝老師教導您的孩子學習書法、手語和食、坐的威儀。

我們期許給孩子的是除了正規的中文教育外還有生活中更重要的人文禮儀，希望您在這當中已看見孩子樂觀、快樂的學習態度了！

身為人文學校的老師，我會用心、專心的傳遞中文知識外，更要用許多的愛心和您的孩子一起成長；因為您的信任和支持，我們會多方面充實自己的專業領域外，最重要的就是能啟發孩子的興趣並陪伴他們共同學習。

四月一日至五月六日是校內學生下一學期註冊報名的時間，我已在上週把通知報名單交給您的孩子代轉交給您，為保留您孩子的權益和支持，不論續讀與否，請在五月六日前交還給註冊組以方便作業，感恩您的配合。

Thank you for spending time to experience Jing-Si Aphorism teaching demonstration in our class with your children this Sunday.

Time flies, it’s already seven months into our bilingual class curriculum. Over this period we have covered not only lessons in Jing-Si Aphorism, but also using the text book “Living Madarin 2”. The latter includes new vocabulary, phrases, conversation, sentence construction and paraphrase exercises. It’s been a busy seven months.

Since November, 2006, we have established our own blogs on http://torontotbi20.blogspot.com/. Since then the children’s works have found their way into the blogs for all to share, as well as reflections on lessons learned each week. This has been an extension of our classroom and we urge everyone to visit our blog site and give us your valuable feedback.

As part of the curriculum this term, the school has invited special coaches to come and give 6 weeks of one-hour talent lessons that include Chinese calligraphy, hand signs, and general etiquette. We would like to give the children not only a good education in Mandarin language, but also traditions, culture and social etiquette. We hope you have already noticed improvement in your children’s general outlook and attitude in learning.

I on the other hand, shall continue to work hard toward delivering good Chinese lessons as well as creating a positive environment conducive for your children’s learning and growth. With your support, we shall continue to improve ourselves. Most importantly, we shall strive to engage the children’s interest and passion for the class.

Registration for the next school term will take place between April 1 and May 6. I have distributed the registration notice and form to the students for your attention. Please return the form to the admin office by May 6 and let us know whether your children will continue to be enrolled in the school.
